Groups and Societies

The Community formed a number of Groups and Societies and these are listed in the drop-down menu. For more information on each go to the appropriate page.

The Hayscastle Rainbows and Brownies meet on Tuesdays between 5 pm – 6.15 pm. Rainbows for girls aged 5 – 7 years and Brownies aged 7 – 10 years.

The Environment Society usually meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. They create and maintain environmental projects in the village, maintain the Community Woodland, and to promote environmental awareness.

The 55+ Club meets at 2pm on the first Monday of each month for tea and biscuits, a raffle and a game of bingo. They also organise coach trips to places of interest during the year, ending with Christmas Lunch in December. New members are always welcome to join. (If the first Monday is a Bank Holiday the meeting takes place on the 2nd Monday of the month).

The History Society meets bi-monthly. Its members are researching into the history of the village and welcome hearing from anyone who would like to join them.

The WI meets every second Thursday of the month. Transport can be arranged if required. Join this group for many social events (incl. coffee mornings) and organised trips to Swansea etc.

The YFC also welcomes new members. You do not have to have a farming background to join. This is an active young group taking part in all sorts of events including many beneficial to the community (for the age group 10 to 26 yrs).
