Report April 2016

The members were busy preparing for the county drama competition at the time of the last Forum meeting. The cast of five gave a fine performance and Mary Raymond won the cup for the most promising actor. Also a party of girls were 2nd singing in the Time to Shine, and to round off the same night Nerys was chosen as Senior Young Farmer of the Year.

Rhys Jones was a member of the Pembrokeshire public speaking team at the Wales competition recently and many members took part in the field day competitions. The indoor games team are through to the next round and we have had teams in the county pub quiz and the PAS quiz night.

We had great fun making Welsh cakes with Mrs Jenny Griffiths and creating pottery masterpieces with Angela Brown, a talk by a policeman on rural security and a night bowling. Mr. Huw Williams kindly invited us to Treddiog Fawr for a ‘Lambing Live’ afternoon which was amazing for many members with a dozen lambs born whilst we were there and mollies to feed.

Our members are always ready to help in the community and did the catering at St. Davids ploughing match, willing hands were at the ready to help in a clear up at the Woodland and to paint the hall and the girls sang at the Cawl Evening.

We had a successful Easter bingo at the Cross Inn. The next big event is the County Rally when it is hoped every member will take part in various competitions and show off their talents. This is a special rally for us as Nerys is the Rally Queen and we wish her all the best for the year.
