Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

On Sunday 5th June a BBQ and activities were held at the community centre and woodland to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. Despite the weather, a large number of residents attended and participated in the activities provided by Hayscastle Community Forum.

There were a number of lovely puddings entered into the Pudding fit for a Queen competition which everyone was able to taste and enjoy. The winner was Helen Roberts with her strawberry cheesecake.

There was a very impressive display of memorabilia from previous jubilee celebrations. Thank you to everyone who brought items to be displayed.

50 + VAT

Geraint Evans from Rhoslan Farm recently celebrated his 60th Birthday (50 + VAT)! Congratulations!

Litter pick well supported

The first community litter pick of the year took place on Saturday 9th April. It was great to see so many people in attendance to help to tidy up litter within the community.

A trio of 18th Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Mathew Dixon, Will Lewis and Robbie Davies who have all recently celebrated turning 18 years old. Congratulations!

Notice of Elections

Pembrokeshire County Council has issued notices of elections for both County Councillors and Community Councillors.

Nomination papers should either be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer at County Hall, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire,SA61 1TP between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm on any working day after the date of this notice, but no later than 4.00pm on Tuesday 5th April 2022.

Community Calendar 2022

The bi-lingual Hayscastle Community calendars 2022 are now on sale, priced at £4.50 each. Why not think of a friend or relative and give a calendar as a Christmas gift.

Calendars can be purchased from the following locations: Cross Inn (Hayscastle), Letterston Village Store or directly from Mrs Sarah Lewis – contact 01348 840410.

The calendars have been created using the winning photos from the Hayscastle Photographic competition 2021. Winners and their respective winning month are as follows :

Our judges were immensely impressed with the high standard of entries, which made the judging quite a difficult task! Mini Christmas Fayre gets the community in the festive spirit

A number of local craft sellers rallied together to hold a mini Christmas Fayre at the Community Centre on Sunday 5th December. There were 5 stalls plus a raffle and refreshments. Thank you to everyone who supported the event. Proceeds from the raffle have been donated to the DPJ Foundation. Here are some photos of the event.

Photographic Competition 2022!

Our 2nd Hayscastle Photographic Competition is now open. The theme is ‘A Celebration of Agriculture in Pembrokeshire’.

This year the competition is open to all current and past residents and for the first time, to all village group members.

Please follow the competition rules for guidance.

The competition will close on Saturday 28th May 2022. All photographs will be viewed by a panel of judges and 12 photographs will be chosen for inclusion in our Hayscastle Calendar 2023. Best of luck everyone. Pob lwc pawb.
